Harmony Kingdom Nest Egg Sea Turtle Treasure Jest

This box figurine portrays sea turtles at their most vulnerable – as they hatch and make a mad dash to the sea. The seven species are inscribed throughout: Green, Hawksbill, Leatherback, Loggerhead, Flatback, Kemp’s Ridley and Olive Ridley.

Interestingly, as with most reptiles, the sex of the turtle depends on the temperature of the eggs. At 28°C they become males and at 32°C they are females. Anywhere in between is a tossup. Since sea turtles hatch at night, the interior carving portrays a turtle with a torch and compass.
